WMRA World Cup 2025
The 6th edition of the Vauban Mountain Trail will take place from July 19th to 20th 2025 in the heart of the city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for Vauban fortifications: Briançon. Set off to discover these trails covered in history around the highest city in Europe with 3 routes on the program for this weekend in the heart of the summer season. The Uphill Race and the 14km will be stages of the 2025 WMRA mountain running world cup.

Friday July 18
- 16:00-19:00: Bibs abd registrations, Schappe Park, Briançon
- 18:00: Presentation of WMRA Elite Runners and delivery of their bib, Schappe Park.
Saturday July 19
- 07:00-08:30: Bibs and registrations Uphill Race, Schappe Park, Briançon.
- 09:00: Start of the Uphill Start, Snow Front, Cable Car Prorel, Briançon.
- 09:45: arrival of the first runner, Top of Cable Car Prorel.
- 14:00: Podiums of the Uphill race, Schappe Park, Briançon.
- 15:00-18:00: Bibs and registrations 14km et 07km, Schappe Park, Briançon
Sunday July 20
- 07:30 – 08:45 : Bibs and registrations14km et 7km, Schappe Park, Briançon.
- 09:00 : Start of the 14km – WMRA World Cup
- 09:45: Start of the 07km.
- 10:00 : arrival of the first runner
- 11:00 – 15:00 : Opening snack bar, Schappe Park, Briançon.
- 12:00 : Podiums 14km et 07km.

- A phone.
Highly recommended materials:
- Water.
- Food.
- A waterproof jacket with a hood if the weather is gloomy.
Walking poles:
Sticks are not permitted.
Vauban Mountain Trail 2025
Regulations valid for all routes of the Vauban Mountain Trail of Briançon 2025
Art 1 : ORGANISATION
The “Trail Running Attitude” association (association law 1901 registered on 05/31/2013 at the Hautes-Alpes prefecture under number W051001390), hereinafter referred to as the Organizer, is organizing the Vauban Mountain Trail in Briançon on the 19th and July 20, 2025.
Art 2 : RACES
The Vauban Mountain Trail propose 3 distances:
- Uphill Race (6km-1150d+), WMRA World Cup
- Big Race Vauban Mountain Trail (14km-1000d+), WMRA World cup
- Small Race Vauban Mountain Trail (07km-300d+)
A Uphill Race, 06km for 1150 meters of positive altitude difference starting from Briançon, Snow Front near the gondola. The race takes place on Saturday July 19, 2025. the start is at 09:00.
A Big Race with 14km for 1000 meters of positive altitude difference starting from Briançon, Schappe Park. The race takes place on Sunday July 20, 2025. The start is at 09:00
A Small Race with 07km for 300 meters of positive altitude difference starting from Briançon, Schappe Park. The race takes place on Sunday July 20, 2025. The start is at 09:45
The races take place individually, in a single stage at free pace with a limited time. Runners must respect the highway code when the route uses traffic lanes.
Art 3 : SEMI AUTONOMY
The race takes place on the principle of semi-autonomy. However, refreshment stations (liquid and solid) are distributed along the route:
- Top of the Uphill race.
- Km 8 on the 14km.
- Finish line of the 14km and 07km.
At the refreshment stations, personal assistance can be provided. This assistance must be provided within a perimeter of less than 50 meters around the station.
.Anyone without a bib cannot accompany a runner.
Art 4 : REGISTRATION
Registration required online on the race website.
Mandatory download of a medical certificate of no contraindication to the practice of competitive running dated less than one year from the date of the event, or a valid licence.
Entry:
- Uphill Race – WMRA World Cup: 20 euros.
- Big race 14km – WMRA World Cup: 25 euros.
- Small Race 07km: 20 euros.
Art 5 : CANCELLATION OF A REGISTRATION
In the event of a request to cancel a registration, and whatever the reasons, no refund will be made by the organization. Cancellation insurance is offered for all registrations and will entitle you to a 100% refund if this is taken out.
The organization reserves the right to exceptionally modify these criteria for accepting a cancellation request depending on the circumstances.

Art 8 : SAFETY AND MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
A first aid station is installed in the start and finish area. If necessary on the course, the runner must contact the race headquarters and follow the instructions given to him.
Art 9 : MAXIMUM AUTHORIZED TIME AND TIME BARRIERS
The maximum time to be classified is 12:00 p.m. on the Uphill Race and 1:00 p.m. on the 14km and 07km.
Art 10 : PENALIZATION and DISQUALIFICATION
By participating in the Vauban Mountain Trail, runners commit to:
• Respect the environment.
• Follow the route without cutting the trails.
• Do not use a means of transport.
• Do not throw waste on the course.
• Have the recommended equipment.
• Submit to anti-doping control.
• Provide assistance to any runner in difficulty.
• Allow yourself to be examined by a doctor and respect their decision.
• Be respectful towards everyone present on the course.
Failure to comply with any of these rules by a rider may result in immediate disqualification or the application of a penalty, following a decision by the event jury without any possibility of appealing this sanction.
Art 11 : JURY and CLAIM
jury is composed by
• The organizing committee.
• The medical team present at the race.
Complaints are admissible by email following the announcement of the results.
Art 12 : ECHANGES TO THE COURSE OR TIME BARRIERS AND CANCELLATION OF THE RACE
For safety reasons, particularly in the event of unfavorable weather conditions, the organization reserves the right to stop races or modify routes and timetables, or even cancel races without notice.
Art 13 : INSURANCE – LIABILITY
The event is covered by civil liability insurance taken out by the organizer. This civil liability insurance guarantees the financial consequences of the organizer, volunteers and participants.
Licensees benefit from the guarantees granted by the insurance linked to their license and it is the responsibility of other riders to take out personal insurance. In addition, runners are strongly advised to take out individual accident insurance covering their own risks.
In the event of abandonment or disqualification, the responsibility of the organization is released.
Art 14 : RANKING AND REWARDS
Only runners crossing the finish line are classified.
A general classification for men and women is established. The WMRA runners and « Open » Runners are in the same ranking. Price Money awarded to the first 10 mans and women’s on the uphill race and 14km.
The age categories will give rise to a separate ranking in the different events.
The 1st in each category will be rewarded with a prize.
Art 15 : IMAGE RIGHTS
Any runner expressly waives the right to use his or her image rights during the event, as he or she waives any recourse against the organizer and its approved partners for the use made of his or her image.
Art 16 :COMPUTER LAW AND FREEDOM
In accordance with the Data Protection Act of January 6, 1978, each participant has the right to access and rectify personal data concerning them.
